Vertigo Radio entrevistó a Daniel Lanois en los estudios de Hanover Quay de Dublín. Muy amablemente, respondió a varias preguntas acerca del nuevo disco de U2.

VR (Vertigo Radio): ¿Cómo está siendo la grabación del Nuevo disco?
DL (Daniel Lanois): Fantástica!, mucha innovación, todo el mundo está apasionado y entusiasmado, nuevas ideas… Para mí, Bono ayer estaba muy entusiasmado.
VR: Estás trabajando mano a mano con Bono y Edge en la producción del nuevo disco o lo estás haciendo a tu manera… o simplemente improvisando?
DL: Definitivamente trabajamos de la misma manera que lo hemos hecho siempre. Todos estamos en la sala “gritando” nuevas ideas probándolas, terminando ideas anteriores, lo cual nos lleva a tener más ideas… nos consideramos como “gente de ideas”. Tocamos instrumentos, por supuesto, pero el hecho es que las ideas nos implican mucho trabajo.
VR: ¿Cómo definirías el sonido del nuevo disco?
DL: Bien, pues si tuviera que definirlo diría que es un disco “tocado a mano y electro”.
VR: Para terminar, ¿puedes mandar un saludo a todo el Club de Fans U2Valencia y a Vertigo Radio?
DL: Oh!, no sé si podré decirlo!... ah! Vertigo Radio!... Un saludo de Daniel Lanois para Vertigo Radio!

- How is it going on the recording of the new album?
Fantastic!, lot of innovation, everybody is exciting and excited, new ideas… the singer was very exciting to me yesterday.
- Are you working hand on hand with Bono and Edge producing the new album or are you going your way… or just improving?
Well, we work the same as we always have. Everybody is in the room, shouting ideas and trying ideas, finishing ideas and it leads to more ideas… we consider ourselves “ideas people”. We can play instruments, of course, but the matter of the week is that ideas led us to a lot of labor.
- How will you define the sound of the new album?
Well, if I have to define the sound of the new album it’s “hand-played and electro”.
- For the last question, will you say a hello to all U2valencia fan club and Vertigo Radio?
Oh!, I don’t know if I can say that!... oh! Vertigo Radio!... hello to Vertigo Radio from Daniel Lanois.
